3 Essentials for Aspiring Photographers

The First essential is Equipment, without it you cannot take photographs !!!In today’s world of Photography the choice of which camera to use is huge. Depending on what type of photography you want to pursue you can have one of the three most popular cameras which are: Compact Digital, a Bridge Super Zoom Digital or an Digital Single Lens Reflex. By far the most versatile and useful for all types of creative photography is the DSLR. The variety of interchangeable lenses for these cameras is truly great and it is probably the most popular type of camera sold today. There are other types of camera such as medium frame and older film cameras, but these tend to be in the minority now.

The Second Essential is Photographic knowledge or theory, without it you are stuck with the Point and Shoot method which means you can literally point and shoot at a subject and get a reasonable result. It is far better to get some understanding of how your camera functions, what it is capable of and how you can get the best from it. Add to that some basic photographic theory regarding exposure, light, apertures and shutter speed and the increased knowledge you gain will help a great deal in the pursuit of better photographs.

 The Third Essential is Experience, you can only gain this by getting out and taking photographs, learning as you go and building confidence to experiment with different things. This is where the DSLR camera comes into its own with the variety of lenses for any specific mode of photography. Having said that the other types of camera with the advances in technology are well able to take good photographs, and for the beginner any type would give good results. The main thing is to keep taking photographs. Digital photography  has been made very easy as photos that are not required can easily be deleted. Such is the simplicity of modern photography.
